Bovidae - Antelopes, Cattle, Gazelles, Goats, Sheep

There are 140 species of wild and domesticated animals in this family. They are found in Africa, Asia, North America, and Europe. The majority of the species in this family are found in Africa. African species include: the impala, the silver dik-dik, the black wildebeest, the springbok, and the rhebok.

Animals in this family have horns. They vary in height from 9 inches to 6.5 feet! All of the species in this family have two-toed hooves. The males and some of the females in this family have horns. They have a four-chambered stomach and are herbivores.

Wild species in this family found in North America include the American bison, the mountain goat, and the American bighorn sheep.
