Paridae - Tits, Chickadees, Titmice

The Paridae family includes about 62 species of birds, also known as tits, chickadees, and titmice. They are found in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

They are small birds, about 3–8 inches (7.6–20.3 cm) in length. They have short, rounded wings; short to long tails; strong toes; and short, stout bills.

Their plumage usually combines gray, black, white, brown, and yellow. In most species, males and females look similar.

They eat insects, spiders, seeds, fruits, and other plant foods. They live in forests, woodlands and scrublands, and many species also live in parks, gardens and other areas near people.
