Dactyloidae - Anoles

There are over 400 species of lizards in this family.

Anoles are found in warm places, including the southern U.S., Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Many anoles can change color and have long tails and sticky toe pads that help them climb trees and walls.

Male anoles have a colorful flap of skin under their necks, called a dewlap, which they use to show off or defend their territory.

Anoles are insectivores (insect eaters).
