Leptodactylidae - Neotropical Frogs

There are around 900 species in this family of frogs. Most of the species in this family are found in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

The frogs in this family vary in size from ½ to nine inches in length. Most species are brown, brownish-green, or gray.

Some species live on land, other species are found in trees, and some species spend most of their time in the water. They are found from sea level to above the tree line in the mountains.
