Pseudocheiridae - Ringtailed Possums

There are 18 species of medium-sized marsupials in this family. They are found in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the surrounding islands.

Ringtail possums are usually small to medium-sized, with big eyes for seeing at night, soft fur, and long prehensile tails that they can curl around branches.

Most species eat leaves, flowers, and fruit.

They are very agile and live in trees and are mostly nocturnal. Some species build nests out of leaves and twigs to rest in during the day.

Like other marsupials, mothers carry their young in a pouch until they are big enough to ride on their backs
