Dicaeidae - Flowerpeckers

There are around 45 species of birds in this family. They are found in tropical regions in southern Asia, Australia, and the South Pacific.

Flowerpeckers are tiny birds – about 3-4 inches (7.6-10.2 cm) in length. They have short tails and curved bills. They eat nectar, berries, and insects. Most species are brown or olive, but the males of some species have brightly colored red or yellow patches on their crowns, rumps, and breasts.

Flowerpeckers are solitary except for the mating season and spend most of their time in trees.
